Some of our key programs and services include: - Community Justice - Employment Services - Developmental Services - Youth Justice - The Community Learning HUB - Weed out The Risk ABOUT THE POSITION Reporting to the Supervisor of Residential Services, the Residential Counsellor is responsible for providing direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. The Residential Counsellor will assist individuals with daily living activities, implement individualized support plans, and promote a safe and supportive environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with personal care, medication administration, and meal preparation. - Implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies to promote positive behavior and skill development. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes. - Participate in team meetings and staff training to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. - Promote a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals. - Provide opportunities for social and recreational activities. - Establish and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and other stakeholders. - Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: - Diploma in a related field (e.g., social work, developmental services, child and youth worker). - Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. - Knowledge of developmental disabilities and related support strategies. - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Ability to manage challenging behaviors. - Ability to maintain confidentiality. - Valid First Aid and CPR certification. - Satisfactory Police Record Check (Vulnerable Sector). - Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
