Customs Operations Coordinator

In the role of Customs Operations Coordinator, you will manage a team of declarants and ensure compliance with established customs policy. You will conduct declaration controls, handle complex customs matters and correspondence such as objections, and act as the first point of contact for internal colleagues and external authorities such as Customs. You will work closely with the Customs Brokerage & Operations Manager to discuss project progress and team developments.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 7 declarants.
• Handle disputes.
• Ensure and coordinate compliance with customs regulations.
• Organize and conduct internal and external audits.
• Respond to customer inquiries, wishes, and needs.
• Prepare and keep work instructions up-to-date.
• Train and advise customs colleagues.
• Proactively inform colleagues about the latest laws and regulations.

We are looking for an experienced customs declarant with the following capabilities:

• Bachelor's work and thinking level.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in customs, for example as a senior declarant.
• Strong analytical skills and willingness to keep professional knowledge up-to-date.
• Fluent command of the Dutch language.
• Proficiency in English (this role is not available for exclusively English-speaking candidates).
