Job description

Next Executive is a boutique recruitment consultancy based in Perth, specialising in the provision of executive-level search and permanent recruitment services.

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about ensuring projects run smoothly through accurate document management? We are seeking a Document Controller to join a leading commercial construction business and play a pivotal role in supporting project teams across multiple commercial projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for the administration of Aconex, ensuring all project documentation—including drawings, specifications, and technical records—is received, distributed, and controlled accurately. This role is critical in maintaining quality, compliance, and efficient workflows across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Aconex, including project set-up and support for internal and external users.
  • Receive, record, and distribute all technical documentation to ensure quality control processes are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all design reviews, revisions, and iterations.
  • Distribute documentation during the construction phase, including issuing project transmittals.
  • Archive project documentation for statutory and future reference requirements.
  • Create and maintain project registers such as drawing matrices and shop drawing registers.
  • Conduct drawing audits to ensure current revisions are available at point of use.
  • Support the development and improvement of document control policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience with Aconex Document Control Software.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in document control.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of project phases from start-up through to archiving.
  • A flexible, proactive
