Distribution Center Manager

Job Summary The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) leads all aspects of the operations at the distribution center, monitors performance goals, and leads a skilled team. The DCM is responsible for the overall performance of the Distribution Centers (DC’s) that they lead as well as ensuring that all Health, Safety and C-TPAT policies are followed. The DCM works alongside other departments to ensure that Hamilton Kent appropriately caters to the needs of our customers. The DCM will have responsibilities in the following areas: Safety, Inventory Management, Transportation, Receiving, Shipping, and Team Leadership. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center. * Oversee and manage all DC employees. * Responsible for all Health and Safety policies and procedures. * Responsible for ensuring C-TPAT guidelines are met. * Responsible for inventory management, including cycle counts, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring inventory is properly stored and protected. * Responsible for Transportation, including coordinating shipments, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. * Responsible for the Receiving process, including unloading and inspecting incoming shipments, verifying accuracy, and properly storing received items. * Responsible for the Shipping process, including order fulfillment, packing, and loading outgoing shipments. * Responsible for Team Leadership, including hiring, training, and developing DC staff. * Works closely with other departments, such as Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing, to ensure customer needs are met. * Develops and implements strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service. * Manages DC budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses. * Conducts performance reviews and provides feedback to DC staff. * Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. * Maintains a clean and organized work environment. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution center management or a similar role. * Strong understanding of distribution center operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, and transportation. * Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. * Strong analytical and organizational skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). * Knowledge of C-TPAT guidelines. * Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
