Disability Support Worker

About the Company:

Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.

The Role:
We are currently looking for multiple Disability Support Workers to work with a female client based in Bowen Hills, QLD. Our participant is a 39-year-old female and has sustained Spinal Cord Injury. She requires moderate to high intensity care. Applicants with prior experience of working with Spinal brain injury will be highly regarded. This is a casual ongoing position with no end date in sight. Our participant requires support 7 days a week.

The shift times are as follows:

• Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 9pm.
• Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 11:30am and 7pm to 9pm.

Pay Rates:

- Between $41.45 per hour to $74.61 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance with personal care
• Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
• Assistance with Catheter Care - secure leg bag.
• Hoisting & Transfers (full hoist/sling hoist)
• Medication Prompting
• Attend to thorough skin checks
• Supervision/assistance during meal time
• Assistance with domestic tasks including meal preparation
• Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
• Community access + rehab appointments
• Capacity Building and Companionship

Skills & Experiences:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with high intensity participant.
• Excellent Communication
• Assistance in Medication Certificate.
• Australian Driver Licence + own vehicle
• Current National Police Clearance
• Current NDIS Screening Card or Yellow Card
• Current Blue Card
• NDIS modules.
• First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Reliable, proactive, and positive attitude
