Disability Support Worker - Complex/High Care

Job description

Nursing Australia is urgently seeking experienced, dedicated and qualified Disability Support Workers (High Intensity Support) to join our growing team.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have the skills and commitment to deliver high-quality care and support to clients with complex needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high intensity personal care and health support - tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, Catheter management.
  • Assist with daily living activities including mobility, hygiene and nutrition
  • Implement behaviour support plans and monitor clients' wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
  • Respond to emergencies and follow clinical protocols

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or equivalent
  • First Aid certificate
  • Manual Handling certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening check
  • WWC check
  • National Police Clearance
  • WA driver's license

You will also need to have demonstrated experience in high intensity support areas such as:

  • Complex bowel care
  • PEG feeding
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilation support
  • Severe dysphagia management
  • Epilepsy and seizure management
  • Complex wound care management
  • Medication administration
