Your Role The Director, Scientific Services is responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational oversight of the Scientific Services department. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: * Developing and implementing the scientific services strategy in alignment with the overall company strategy. * Leading and managing a team of scientific professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management. * Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of scientific projects and services. * Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including commercial, medical, and clinical operations, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. * Building and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, external scientific partners, and other relevant stakeholders. * Staying current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements. * Managing the scientific services budget and resources effectively. * Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies. Key Responsibilities * Strategic Planning: * Develop and execute the scientific services strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives. * Identify and evaluate new scientific opportunities and partnerships. * Conduct market research and analysis to inform scientific service offerings. * Team Leadership: * Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of scientific professionals. * Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance reviews. * Foster a collaborative and engaging work environment. * Project Management: * Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of scientific projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. * Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address any issues. * Ensure the quality and accuracy of scientific deliverables. * Stakeholder Management: * Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, external scientific partners, and other stakeholders. * Represent the company at scientific conferences, meetings, and events. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. * Budget Management: * Develop and manage the scientific services budget. * Monitor and control expenses, ensuring efficient resource allocation. * Prepare financial reports and provide regular updates to senior management. * Compliance: * Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies. * Stay current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements. * Implement and maintain quality control processes. Qualifications * Advanced scientific degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacology). * 10+ years of experience in scientific services or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. * Strong understanding of the drug development process and the pharmaceutical industry. * Proven track record of developing and executing scientific strategies. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Experience managing budgets and resources effectively. * Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA). * Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
