Director Professional Services & Cloud Operations (m/f/d)

The VertiGIS group of companies develops software solutions for Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We are a leading solution provider in the fields of energy supply, water management, land management, authorities, infrastructure, facility management, and telecommunications. Our products help companies to efficiently plan, manage, and optimize networks, facilities, and processes – in daily use worldwide.

The Land Management Business Unit supports public administrations in the digitalization of surveying, cadastre, and geoinformation. VertiGIS LM Cloud forms the basis for new cloud-based operating and service models.

This position will strategically develop Professional Services and Cloud Operations and scale the organization for managed cloud and subscription services. You will lead the responsible managers and oversee a department of around 40 employees.

The Responsibilities

Cloud and Service Business

• Strategic further development of Cloud Operations, Managed Services, and operating models for LM Cloud

• Shaping the transformation from project-oriented services to standardized cloud, managed service, and subscription offerings

• Development and implementation of the roadmap for cloud business, services, and operations, including suitable KPIs and economic targets

Leadership and Organizational Development

• Leadership and development of Team Leads and other managers in Professional Services and Cloud Operations

• Shaping and scaling the organization through organizational development, competence building, and change management

• Definition of responsibilities, standards, and decision-making processes for collaboration across multiple teams

Customer, Partner, and Business Development

• Advising customers and partners on strategic issues of digitalization, cloud adoption, and transformation

• Collaboration with Sales and Proposal Management on strategically important projects and large-scale projects

• Building and further developing technology and implementation partners for cloud, managed service, and subscription offerings

The position requires several years of experience in the following areas:

• Responsibility for strategic transformation programs in the areas of cloud, services, or digital business models

• Leadership of Team Leads or other managers, as well as organizational development and change management

• Building and scaling service organizations and transforming project-oriented business models into managed cloud and service offerings

• Creation and evaluation of business cases, investment decisions, and economic management of organizational units, considering profitability, utilization, and scalability

• Collaboration with boards, managing directors, heads of authorities, or comparable decision-makers

In addition, German language skills at C2 level and English language skills at C1 level are required.

Desirable

• Expertise in GIS and Land Management

• Knowledge of the German public sector market

• Experience with Microsoft 365 as well as with project management, BI, and ERP solutions, such as Microsoft Project, Power BI, and NetSuite
