Director (P5) (Financial Support Services: Supply Chain Management)

As a key member of the Financial Support Services: Supply Chain Management team, the Director (P5) will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of supply chain management strategies, policies, and procedures that support the University’s overall goals and objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the higher education sector, with experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and financial planning. S/he will be able to demonstrate a track record of achievement in developing and implementing effective supply chain management strategies, as well as excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Key responsibilities include: • Providing strategic direction and guidance on the development and implementation of supply chain management strategies, policies, and procedures that support the University’s overall goals and objectives. • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure effective supply chain management practices. • Collaborating with other teams within Financial Support Services: Supply Chain Management to develop and implement effective supply chain management solutions. • Providing expert advice and guidance on supply chain management best practices, trends, and innovations to the University community. • Developing and managing budgets for supply chain management initiatives and projects. • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to procurement, logistics, and financial planning. • Building and maintaining a high-performing team by providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities. • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the Financial Support Services: Supply Chain Management team. The University offers a competitive remuneration package that includes a salary range of R1 200 000 to R1 500 000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be required to register with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) or the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), respectively.
