OPERATIONAL DIRECTOR / PROJECT MANAGER -Civil and industrial construction

Location: Company headquarters and construction sites in our county

Contract: Full-time, permanent contract

Schedule: 09:00 - 18:00 (including a one-hour break)

We have been building in our county for 9 years: houses and apartment buildings, industrial halls, company headquarters for private clients, and many other types of constructions. We have grown consistently and now have a team of over 80 people, organized into departments, each with its own responsible person. We are looking for the person who can hold all these elements together, lead the company operationally through department heads, and report directly to the administrator.

This is not an entry-level role. It is the role from which you see all construction sites at once: who is doing what, where delays are occurring, where money is being lost, and what decision needs to be made today to avoid costs next week.

What you will do

• Planning the execution of works: schedules, deadlines, resources, priorities between construction sites;

• Monitoring costs and staying within approved budgets, with periodic reporting to the administrator;

• Coordinating activities through department heads; you will discuss with them, not directly with each of the over 80 employees;

• Relationship with clients and designers: site meetings, technical correspondence, work statements, acceptances;

• Solving execution problems together with the technical team, maintaining the assumed quality and deadlines.

What we require from you

• Higher education in construction - civil and industrial construction engineer (mandatory requirement);

• Minimum 3 years of experience in site coordination, in execution (not exclusively design or bidding);

• Current proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software (WinDoc, DocLib, or equivalents);

• Category B driving license.

The right person for this role

Maintains a balance between firmness and respect: asks for what needs to be asked, but people work with him, not against him. Makes decisions based on technical and economic criteria, fairly and impartially, regardless of who is on the other side of the table - a team member, subcontractor, or supplier. Calls things by their name in advance, not on the day of acceptance, and takes responsibility for the decisions made. Has the patience to listen and the authority to end a discussion when necessary.
