Job description
The Position Director Medical Services Fixed Term Temporary Full Time (2-year contract with possibility of extension) This is a critical leadership role responsible for the Medical Services and Clinical Governance across Central Highlands to meet organisational and community needs. Working closely with the General Manager (GM) and Executive Director (ED) together with the Leadership team, you will be an authority on medical services for rural sites; as well as provide expert advice in resolving complex clinical issues. Key Responsibilities: * Provide expert clinical leadership and direction to all medical services. * Provide specialist advice to the GM, ED and Leadership Team on medical and clinical matters. * Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care, clinical safety and effective clinical governance. * Oversee the management of medical workforce planning, recruitment, and retention. * Manage and monitor the medical services budget. * Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, accreditation standards, and clinical guidelines. * Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning. * Represent the organisation in relevant forums and with external stakeholders. Selection Criteria: * Medical degree and current registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia. * Fellowship of a relevant specialist college. * Extensive experience in a senior medical leadership role. * Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical leadership and direction. * Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing clinical governance frameworks. * Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. * Demonstrated commitment to rural health and community needs.
