Director IT & Digital Innovation (m/f/d)

For an internationally operating, family-run company from the industrial mid-market, we are seeking a Director IT & Digital Innovation (m/f/d) on a full-time basis.

In this position, you will take overall responsibility for the IT, data, and AI strategy and shape the company's digital further development in close cooperation with management, specialist departments, and international locations.

In doing so, you will work with technologies such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, modern cloud technologies, and AI-based solutions, and ensure that IT and digitalization make a measurable contribution to efficiency, innovation, and corporate success.

Tasks

• You will shape the future IT direction of the company and, together with management, develop a clear strategy for digitalization, data, and artificial intelligence.

• You will review existing IT structures and business processes, identify optimization opportunities, and initiate targeted improvements.

• You will continuously develop the Microsoft system landscape, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• You will drive the digitalization of business processes and leverage modern technologies to make workflows more efficient and automated.

• You will ensure that the IT systems are operated stably, securely, and economically.

• You will further develop the areas of IT security, data protection, compliance, and IT governance and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.

• You will manage strategic IT projects, be responsible for planning IT budgets, and coordinate collaboration with external service providers and technology partners.

• You will assume the professional and disciplinary leadership of the IT team, promote the development of your employees, and strengthen collaboration with specialist departments and international locations.

Qualification

• A completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification

• Several years of leadership experience in IT, digitalization, or business transformation, ideally within the industrial mid-market

• Good knowledge of working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

• Experience with modern Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, and digital process solutions

• A good understanding of AI technologies and their economically sensible use in a corporate environment

• Strong business acumen and a process- and solution-oriented mindset

• Entrepreneurial thinking, implementation strength, and a structured, pragmatic approach to work

• The ability to actively shape technological change and bring together people and different corporate areas

• Strong communication skills at management and specialist levels, as well as good German and English language skills

Experience and knowledge in several of these areas are of particular interest:

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and ERP further development

• Microsoft technologies and modern cloud platforms

• IT strategy and digital transformation

• Data strategy, data governance, and data quality

• Artificial intelligence and data-driven business processes

• Process digitalization and automation

• Cyber security, data protection, and IT compliance

• IT project management, budget control, and service provider management

Experience from the industrial mid-market and collaboration with international company locations is an advantage.
