Director (gn) Infrastructure & Operations
Job description
Safe-Hub Berlin is a project of AMANDLA gGmbH and part of an international network that strengthens children and youth from structurally disadvantaged areas through sport, education, and social inclusion. Besides the operational management, the Berlin location is in a decisive growth phase: An infrastructure project – consisting of fundraising and its own real estate development – will be realized over the next few months and years. For this purpose, we are looking for an experienced person with a sense of direction who takes responsibility and drives the further development of Safe-Hub Berlin together with the team.
Your role
You take overall operational responsibility in a phase where Safe-Hub must simultaneously maintain its ongoing operations and actively drive a complex infrastructure project forward. As a central leadership figure, you are the link between the team, management, and a network of external partners and authorities. You manage timetables, account for budgets, coordinate planning and approval processes, and keep all relevant stakeholders closely involved – so that the infrastructure project does not stall but gains momentum.
The project is more than just building and planning: It's about developing a place that really fits into the neighborhood – reflecting the needs of the people on site and contributing to the long-term social infrastructure of the district. You bring not only project development expertise, but also an understanding of urban development processes and the question of what a quarter needs to function.
At the same time, you are responsible for team dynamics. You lead an organization with committed people who need clear decision-making structures. Management remains strategically involved; operational leadership is in your hands.
