Director, Engineering
Job description
We are looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead high-performing teams in building scalable, secure, and cloud-native enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in Java, full-stack development, and modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). This role involves driving engineering excellence, setting architectural direction, and fostering innovation across products and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical and architectural vision for enterprise platforms and products.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across backend, frontend, DevOps, and QA disciplines.
- Oversee the design and delivery of cloud-native, microservices-based applications.
- Ensure strong alignment between technology strategy and business objectives.
- Implement engineering best practices for coding standards, automation, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
- Champion full-stack modernization initiatives, including frontend (React/Angular) and backend (Java/Spring Boot, Node.js) technologies.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures using containers, Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
- Establish governance models, design reviews, and performance optimization frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations.
- Manage resource planning, talent development, and vendor relationships.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on background in Java / J2EE / Spring Boot and full-stack technologies (Angular/React, Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs).
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
- Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud security.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multi-site or global teams preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Exposure to AI/ML integration, data pipelines, and analytics platforms.
- Cloud or architecture certifications (AWS Certified Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to scale engineering organizations and deliver complex, enterprise-grade solutions.

Schedule: 5 Days/Week Onsite
Working Hours: 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM IST
