Director, Electrical Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the electrical system architecture from concept to production for advanced robotics platforms.
• Transform product ideas into detailed block diagrams and electrical requirements.
• Design and develop main logic boards, control boards, and interface boards with high-speed connections.
• Define and review high-speed interfaces ensuring robustness and performance.
• Architect power systems for dense, performance-critical designs.
• Oversee schematic capture and PCB layout, ensuring designs are manufacturable.
• Drive board bring-up, debugging, and validation in the lab.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing.
• Mentor and potentially manage a growing team of engineers.
• Facilitate the transition of designs from prototype to production.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Over 10 years of industry experience with a proven track record in shipping complex hardware products.
• Expertise in high-speed interfaces and networking.
• Strong background in power management and PCB design.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and make decisive, fast-paced decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-performance hardware environments.
• Background in robotics, consumer electronics, or networking systems.
• Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson platforms and FPGA-based systems.
• Experience in mentoring or managing engineering teams.
