Director of Transportation

We are looking for a Director of Transportation to lead a large-scale national distribution operation, with responsibility for a complex network of routes, own fleet, and outsourced providers.

The position will be responsible for defining and executing the comprehensive transportation strategy, ensuring profitability, productivity, service quality, and operational scalability, with a primary focus on last-mile distribution.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the national transportation strategy for a high-volume operation.
• Maximize the utilization of the owned fleet through utilization, productivity, and profitability indicators.
• Manage and optimize transportation spending, ensuring the achievement of financial and operational objectives.
• Manage the relationship and performance of external carriers, ensuring competitive service levels.
• Develop and implement strategies to strengthen the last-mile operation and improve the customer delivery experience.
• Ensure the correct administration of budgets, costs, and profitability of the transportation operation.
• Lead the fleet maintenance strategy, ensuring availability, mechanical reliability, and cost control.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, reducing costs, and elevating service levels.
• Lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams with a national presence.

Required Profile

• Indispensable experience in senior transportation management positions within companies whose main activity is transportation, parcel delivery, courier services, distribution, or specialized logistics.
• Proven experience leading large-scale national transportation operations.
• Strong command of owned fleet, carrier management, last-mile, and complex distribution networks.
• Direct experience in budget administration, cost control, profitability, and financial indicator management (P&L).
• Indispensable experience in fleet maintenance and strategic fleet management.
• Demonstrated ability to transform operations, improve productivity, and optimize asset utilization.
• Experience reporting to executive levels and participating in strategic business decisions.
