Infrastructure Projects Director

Job Objective

Direct and supervise an extensive portfolio of infrastructure projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with schedule, cost, quality, safety, productivity, and profitability objectives, with experience in highly complex projects in Mexico and Latin America.

Required Experience

• More than 10 years of experience in infrastructure construction, with a progressive career in Project Management and/or Director positions.
• Proven experience in road, railway/train, tunnel, and heavy infrastructure projects.
• Simultaneous direction and administration of multiple projects, with different locations, teams, and complexity levels.
• Large-scale projects in Mexico and other Latin American (LATAM) countries.
• Integral work from bidding, planning, budgeting, contracting, and execution to project closure.
• Administration of budgets, costs, progress, productivity, and profitability for multiple projects.
• Management of heavy machinery and construction equipment, including planning, allocation, availability, utilization, productivity, maintenance, and costs.
• Coordination of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in administration and negotiation of contracts, change orders, claims, and scope control.
• Desirable experience under EPC, EPCM, APP/PPP, concession, or FIDIC contract schemes.

Main Responsibilities:

• Simultaneously direct an infrastructure project portfolio.
• Establish execution strategies for each project according to its characteristics, risks, and contractual conditions.
• Supervise compliance with schedules, budget, scope, quality, and safety.
• Ensure the profitability and value generation of the projects.

Machinery and Equipment Management

• Define the strategy for machinery utilization and allocation across projects.
• Supervise indicators of availability, utilization, productivity, performance, and cost per hour/equipment.
• Optimize machinery distribution according to the needs and progress of each project.
• Coordinate with the machinery, maintenance, construction, and purchasing departments to ensure the availability of critical equipment.
• Evaluate needs for machinery acquisition, rental, mobilization, and demobilization.

LATAM Management

• Direct projects in different countries of Latin America, considering the contractual, regulatory, labor, logistical, and operational conditions of each country.
• Coordinate multicultural teams and geographically distributed operations.
• Manage risks associated with international projects and local conditions.

Strategic Management

• Coordinate the departments of Construction, Engineering, Planning, Costs, Purchasing, Subcontracts, Machinery, QHSE, Legal, and Administration.
• Present indicators of progress, cost, productivity, profitability, risks, and projections to General Management.
• Identify deviations and establish corrective action plans.
• Participate in bidding processes and in the evaluation of new infrastructure opportunities.

Education

• Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Desirable Master's degree in Project Management, Construction, Infrastructure, or Administration.
• Desirable PMP certification.
• Desirable training and experience in FIDIC.
• Advanced English, desirable.
