Role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Responsible for Business Development – SME will play a key role in developing markets in the Greater Montreal area, identifying new high-value opportunities, and creating durable partnerships, in a technical and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop existing markets and identify new commercial opportunities;
  • Represent the company at commercial events and to key partners;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty;
  • Evaluate opportunities in terms of feasibility, strategic alignment, probability of success, and profitability;
  • Collaborate with clients and their engineers to understand needs, constraints, requirements, deadlines, and technical specifications for each new project;
  • Collaborate with the Gentec team to respond to client technical questions;
  • Complete and analyze various indicators from software tools (including a CRM) to ensure achievement of sales targets;
  • Support the team responsible for preparing bids using various computer software (CalcuQuote, Excel template) and web tools (supplier and reseller websites);


Formation/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development B2B in a technical environment (SME, electronics manufacturing).
  • Strategic capacity to develop markets, identify high-value opportunities, and qualify projects based on feasibility, profitability, and strategic alignment.
  • SIGNIFICANT experience in selling technical or custom solutions with complex sales cycles.
  • Confirmed experience representing the company to strategic clients and at industry events.
  • Tight collaboration with technical teams for defining solutions and supporting bids.
  • Excellent negotiation, representation, and high-level client relationship management skills.
  • Marked orientation towards customer satisfaction, loyalty, and growth.
  • Familiarity with performance indicators, CRM, and sales tracking tools.
  • Natural leadership, high autonomy, and strong results-oriented focus.
