Description Effective and engaging communication through social media is a strategic priority in reaching citizens, stakeholders, and institutional audiences across the European Union and beyond. Social media channels - both institutional and personal (e.g. Director-General and senior management) - play a key role in promoting policy initiatives, enhancing transparency, and building trust in the European project. In this context, the expert is needed to help create and implement impactful, high-quality social media activities and campaigns. The expert will be required to develop and deliver strategic digital engagement and social media plans, covering the following key areas: * **Strategic Planning**: Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with overall communication objectives and policy priorities. * **Content Creation**: Produce compelling and engaging content, including text, images, videos, and infographics, tailored for various social media platforms. * **Community Management**: Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, respond to inquiries, and foster a positive online community. * **Campaign Management**: Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote specific initiatives, events, and policy updates. * **Performance Analysis**: Track and analyze social media performance, providing regular reports and insights to optimize strategies and improve engagement. * **Channel Management**: Manage and maintain various social media channels, ensuring consistent branding, messaging, and quality. * **Digital Innovation**: Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and integrate innovative approaches into social media activities. * **Collaboration**: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication across all channels. * **Risk Management**: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with social media activities, including reputational risks and data privacy concerns. **Main Responsibilities**: * Develop, implement, and evaluate social media strategies and plans. * Create and curate high-quality content for various social media platforms. * Manage social media channels, including content calendars, posting schedules, and engagement activities. * Monitor social media trends and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and innovation. * Analyze social media performance and provide regular reports and insights. * Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication. * Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with social media activities. **Specific Tasks**: * Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy. * Create and manage content calendars for social media channels. * Write and edit engaging social media posts, including text, images, and videos. * Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and inquiries, and respond in a timely and professional manner. * Track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools, providing regular reports and insights. * Identify and implement opportunities to increase engagement and reach. * Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices. * Collaborate with other members of the communication team to ensure consistent messaging and effective communication across all channels. * Assist with the development and implementation of social media campaigns. * Provide support for social media training and workshops. **Required Qualifications**: * Proven experience in social media management, with a strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for social media. * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track and analyze social media performance. * Experience with social media analytics tools. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. * Native or near-native proficiency in English. Knowledge of other EU languages is an asset. * Experience working in a multicultural environment. * Knowledge of the EU institutions and policies is an asset.
