Digger Operator

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience operating diggers up to 23T in earthworks, civil construction, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of excavation and trenching practices.
• Ability to work from plans, drawings, and levels.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Full driver's licence and WTR endorsement.
• Experience operating other earthmoving equipment including loaders, rollers, and skid steers highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate diggers/ excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with project requirements.
• Carry out site preparation work as required.
• Read and interpret site plans and project specifications.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance.
• Work closely with site supervisors, surveyors, truck drivers, and ground crews.
• Load trucks and move materials efficiently while minimising waste.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Complete relevant documentation, machine logs, and safety records as required.

Adecco is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Digger Operator to join our client's earthworks and civil construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating diggers/ excavators and associated plant equipment to complete, site preparation and earthmoving activities. The role requires a minimum of three years machine operating skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
