Diesel Motor Mechanic at Saini Transport

Saini Transport is a family-owned transport and mechanical service business located in Bexley. We take pride in delivering reliable service and maintaining strong customer relationships. We are currently seeking a qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

• Detects and diagnoses faults in engines and parts
• Disassembles engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other major components, removes assemblies, and inspects all parts for faults or wear.
• Replaces or repairs damaged or worn parts, reassembles mechanical components, and refers to service manuals when necessary.
• Rebuilds engines and related components once repairs are completed.
• Conducts performance tests and makes necessary adjustments to ensure mechanical systems operate correctly, including diagnosing issues using computer-based diagnostic tools.
• Inspects vehicles and prepares roadworthiness reports or outlines any repairs required to meet roadworthy standards.
• Uses scanning equipment and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues in vehicles and machinery.
• Performs routine checks on key systems such as engines, steering, transmissions, suspension, and braking systems.
• Safely uses hydraulic jacks, hoists, and other workshop equipment during inspections and repairs.
• Repairs faulty or damaged parts, units, or systems and ensures all issues are properly rectified.
• Completes test drives to confirm faults have been repaired and systems are functioning correctly.
• Communicates with vehicle or machinery operators to understand issues and explain repair work.
• Orders required parts for repairs and maintains appropriate stock levels in the workshop.

About You

The Successful candidate must satisfy the following:

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic
• Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence

• Salary: AUD 80,000 per annum plus superannuation
