Diesel Mechanic Our client, a locally owned and operated truck servicing business based in Takanini, is looking for a skilled and reliable Diesel Technician to join their tight-knit team. The workshop is well-established, having been on-site for 3 years, and the business itself was started by two passionate owners 5 years ago. They're a friendly and down-to-earth team that values hard work, good banter, and strong mechanical and electrical know-how. This role is a mix of workshop-based servicing and occasional on-road assistance. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diesel engines, be able to lift up to 25kg, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: • Carry out routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines and associated systems; • Diagnose and repair faults with diesel engines and associated systems; • Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy; • Perform minor repairs and adjustments as required; • Keep accurate records of work completed and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Requirements: • 2+ years' experience working with diesel engines; • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge; • Ability to lift up to 25kg; • Excellent problem-solving skills; • Strong communication and teamwork skills; • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
