Our client, a locally owned and operated truck servicing business based in Takanini, is looking for a skilled and reliable Diesel Technician to join their tight-knit team.

The workshop is well-established, having been on-site for 3 years, and the business itself was started by two passionate owners 5 years ago. They're a friendly and down-to-earth team that values hard work, good banter, and strong mechanical and electrical know-how.

This role is a mix of workshop-based servicing, repairs and field work, covering a wide range of vehicles including modern European and Japanese trucks as well as US models. The business does a lot of fleet work and prides itself on quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be strong mechanically, have a solid understanding of truck electrical systems, and fit well within the existing team culture.

Day to day duties

• Servicing and repairing a wide variety of trucks and trailers
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out preventative maintenance
• Completing compliance checks and ensuring road safety standards
• Accurately completing job cards and paperwork
• Supporting fleet clients and occasionally heading out for on-site work

About You

• At least 3 years of hands on diesel mechanic experience, preferably in truck servicing and diagnostics
• Solid electrical knowledge - diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults
• NZ resident, citizen or open visa holder
• Full, clean NZ driver's license, ideally truck license holder
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload
• A great attitude and willingness to pitch in
