Diesel Mechanic - Cape Town

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Stikland Industrial, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy machinery used in civil construction operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction machinery

• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions

• Work with equipment including excavators, diggers, graders, and trucks

• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability

• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work

• Adhere to health and safety standards in all mechanical tasks

• Support operational teams with technical mechanical advice

• Ensure minimal downtime of machinery through preventative maintenance

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the civil construction industry

• Strong knowledge of heavy machinery including excavators, diggers, graders, and trucks

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Relevant mechanical or trade qualification preferred
