DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a talented DevOps engineer to provide support to our operations and implementation of our cloud-based infrastructure as well as managed services in a SaaS environment. Our Infrastructure & Operations production team is working to automate everything, manages our infrastructure as code, and builds our platform based on open-source tools and applications.

Job description/main responsibilities

• BUILD deployment of client infrastructure.
• Design, scale, and implement an automated approach to all stages of the Tecsys platform lifecycle.
• BUILD a CI/CD pipeline for our delivery process.
• CREATE a deployment logic to respond to different scenarios and edge cases.
• DEVELOP automation and testing for all our processes.
• WORK with AWS services, focusing on complex and hybrid architectures.
• MONITOR various server infrastructure systems of Tecsys, ensure their stability, and maximize availability for clients.
• ORIENT towards efficient and evolving architectures for Tecsys' server infrastructure.
• COLLABORATE with developers to plan and build automation deployment and maintainability of a larger Tecsys network.
• PROVIDE technical infrastructure and platform support for our SaaS offer.
• DEVELOP automation for routine maintenance and surveillance.
• PARTICIPATE in developing standards and administrative procedures.
• RESEARCH, innovate, and improve cloud-based IT services offered to clients.
• ADHERE to change management processes and apply them.
• PARTICIPATE in planning and implementing projects (design, implementation, and support).
• PLAN and execute maintenance procedures.
• DOCUMENT and automate incident response strategies
• RESPOND to incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of production-level experience with high-volume, highly available distributed systems based on Java or .Net.
• 2+ years of production-level experience with various cloud-based services AWS or Azure (at least one).
• Strong scripting skills (Ubuntu, grep, shell, bash, etc.).
• Clear understanding of networking concepts (e.g. firewall, NAT, port, subnet, VPC, VPN, DNS, etc.).
• Experience with designing and managing production-level Unix container ecosystems (Docker, EKS or AKS, Kubernetes, service discovery, registry services).
• Absolutely necessary experience in secure architecture and/or management of AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, Lambda) using infrastructure-as-code techniques such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• AWS or Azure knowledge required (at least one).
• GitLab (enterprise license) preferred (or at least Jenkins required).
• Terraform required.
• Ansible required.
• Kubernetes preferred.
• Helm preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Java or .Net development required.
• Experience with a SaaS company is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, necessary to communicate effectively with our clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues outside of Quebec province.

• Availability rotation for escalation.
• OCCASIONAL travel (less than 10%)
