DevOps Engineer – Release & Deployment (m/f/d)

The focus is on reliable build, test, and release processes: Deployments are automated, clean pipelines are established, and new versions are delivered quickly, securely, and verifiably. The role designs release and deployment architectures that can be flexibly adapted to different customer environments and acts as a technical point of contact for development and product teams.

• Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) – for fast, stable, and repeatable software releases in production
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes and continuously improve release quality and speed
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) for Azure environments and actively drive the shift-left approach
• Close collaboration with development, testing, and operations teams and establishment of DevOps best practices within the AppFactory
• Implement modern deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, Rolling) and support internal and customer projects in technical implementation
• Analyze incidents in the release process, identify vulnerabilities, and develop sustainable solutions together with the team
• Advise clients on designing suitable release and deployment architectures and precisely match requirements with the GRAYOAK solution portfolio
• Take on an active architectural role in customer projects – from requirements analysis and solution design to accompanying technical implementation
• Act as a technical point of contact for release and deployment questions – internally for development and product teams, and externally for customers

• Completed degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification, or corresponding practical experience
• Several years of professional experience in Release Engineering, DevOps, or CI/CD Engineering – ideally in a consulting or product environment
• In-depth understanding of Git, branching, and tagging strategies
• Experience in direct customer contact or in a consulting role – e.g., as a Solution Engineer, Technical Consultant, or in a similar role
• Strong communication skills towards technical and non-technical stakeholders – ability to explain complex architectures comprehensibly
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD tooling: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable
• Understanding of release promotion processes (Development → Test → Pre-Production → Production) as well as hotfix and release strategies
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM)
• Experience with Kubernetes deployment and rollback processes, artifact management, and container image versioning (Docker, AKS)
• Familiarity with different system architectures: Monolith, Monorepo structures, Multi-Tier, and Microservices
• Knowledge of cloud architectures, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Independent, solution-oriented way of working with a high standard of quality and a hands-on mentality
• Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken

• Versioning of Helm Charts and GitOps workflows (e.g., Argo CD, Flux) and experience in agile development environments (Scrum, SAFe)
• Monitoring & Observability: Azure Monitor, Grafana, or Prometheus
• Azure or DevOps certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-104)
