Job description

Education changes lives.

At Kufer, we ensure that our customers can focus on what truly matters. Our software helps educational institutions to make their work simpler, more structured, and more human. For this, we need people who think ahead, take responsibility, and are eager to achieve something meaningful together.

Welcome to Kufer – Software for Education. Solution for People.

DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

We are currently rebuilding our platform – moving away from on-premises towards a modern, Kubernetes-based SaaS infrastructure. This is not a 'we've always done Kubernetes' role, but an opportunity to actively shape things with short decision paths and genuine responsibility.

As a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the stable, secure operation of our Kubernetes infrastructure in the cloud and on-premises, automate the deployment pipeline together with our development teams, and drive forward how AI agents can be meaningfully integrated into our operational processes.

What tasks await you:

  • Operation, maintenance, and further development of our Kubernetes-based infrastructure (SaaS and on-premises) as well as building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • Shaping agent-based automation: Meaningfully integrating AI agents into deployment and operational processes instead of manually repeating every step
  • Support for the .NET teams in product operations (deployment, monitoring, release, and rollout topics)
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring across infrastructure, network, and application levels to ensure availability and stability
  • Shaping operational security measures (e.g., secrets management, access control, network policies) as well as stable database and storage connections (e.g., PostgreSQL)
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes

What you should bring:

  • Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable vocational training or further education
  • In-depth practical experience in a DevOps or Platform environment
  • Very good knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker, Helm)
  • Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines
  • Good Linux knowledge and a solid understanding of networking
  • Structured, independent way of working and team spirit
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
  • Curiosity about AI-powered workflows and agentic coding is a plus – we don't expect experience in this, but we do expect interest

What we offer:

  • Short paths, real team: Mühldorf, Waldkraiburg, Altötting, Neuötting, and the places in between are our home – with 2 home office days per week, the position is also easily manageable from Rosenheim or Chiemgau
  • Flat hierarchies, short decision-making processes, and genuine personal responsibility – without corporate ballast
  • Secure, permanent employment with flexible working hours in a growing software company
  • Benefits such as company pension plans, capital-forming benefits, free drinks and fruit, and numerous employee events are a matter of course
