DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) for Linux and Kubernetes-based OSS Infrastructures

Tasks

Your Role

We are looking for a service-oriented DevOps Engineer to support us in commissioning and operating our Linux-based IT systems. You will need technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to operate scalable systems within an agile environment. We don't expect you to master everything perfectly yet, but solid knowledge of containerized systems and a willingness to learn new technologies are essential.

Your Tasks

• Support in commissioning and ongoing operation of our Linux systems (SLES, Red Hat, Debian)

• Management and support of containers, including in Kubernetes

• Setup and operation of CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD Pipelines)

• Maintenance, operation, and technical support (Helpdesk)

• Monitoring of server systems with tools like Icinga and Nagios

• Setup and operation of databases (including mySQL, PostgreSQL including PostGIS)

• Creation of operating manuals and training in the area of web-based applications and Linux servers/containers

Qualification

• Extensive knowledge in the field of Open Source (OSS) infrastructures and Linux systems

• Experience with server operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, Debian)

• Extensive knowledge of handling container technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, OpenStack)

• Sound programming skills with programming languages like Python, Java, PHP or Javascript/Typescript

• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab)

• Sound knowledge in the management of SQL databases (including PostgreSQL, mySQL)

• Experience with LDAP and Active Directory is an advantage

• Analytical skills and problem-solving competence

• Team spirit and strong communication skills, highly developed helping skills
