Development Engineer R&D HF Power Amplifier Modules (m/f/x)

To strengthen our team of experts at our client in the radio and communications industry, we are looking for a Development Engineer R&D HF Power Amplifier Modules (m/f/x) at K-tronik. Responsibilities:

  • Definition and design of RF power amplifier modules for the VHF and UHF bands used in broadcasting and communication applications
  • Development of amplifier circuits, combiner networks, and associated RF frontend components with a focus on efficiency, linearity, and compliance with industry standards
  • Modeling and simulation using industry-standard tools (e.g., Keysight Advanced Design System, CST Microwave Studio, SPICE) to predict performance, thermal behavior, and reliability
  • Collaboration with electrical and mechanical design teams to ensure seamless integration of RF modules into the overall product architecture
  • Leading the entire product development cycle: concept, detailed design, prototyping, experimental characterization, qualification, and PLM activities (requirements management, configuration control, change tracking, and end-of-life planning)
  • Conducting "make-or-buy" analyses, evaluating external solutions, and driving the implementation of cost-effective, synergistic alternatives
  • Creation of work packages with realistic time and cost estimates; monitoring progress and reporting to stakeholders
  • Handover of validated designs to series production, including provision of documentation, training, and on-site support for manufacturing teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (specializing in RF/Microwave)
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the development of RF power amplifier modules for VHF/UHF broadcasting or communication systems
  • Proficient in using Keysight ADS, CST Microwave Studio, and SPICE simulators
  • In-depth knowledge of RF power amplifier circuit design, combiner networks, and efficiency enhancement techniques
  • Familiarity with PLM tools and product lifecycle processes
  • Fluent German and English skills (spoken and written)
  • Soft skills: Initiative, results orientation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
