Development Engineer Production – Focus Software (f/m/d)

As a Development Engineer (m/f/d), you will be a significant key function in our Production Engineering Team and will implement your own ideas in the development of new test benches and production optimizations. With our World Class team, currently 10 team members, you will play a central role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology.

You will work closely with stakeholders from production and development to take production to the next level and enable our rapid growth. By optimizing production and developing new testing capabilities, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for aerial data acquisition solutions with small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAV).

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Execution of the complete development cycle of test benches for drone components or complete systems: Conception, mechanical and electronic design up to implementation

• Development and maintenance of automated test software in Python for test benches in production

• Development and optimization of test strategies for production assurance

• Root cause analysis of production problems

• You will be the interface between the development departments and production.

What you bring to the team:

• You have completed a degree/apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a similar qualification.

• You have experience in the development of test benches, their construction, or general manufacturing experience.

• Experience with Python/C# and corresponding GUI frameworks, such as Tk or Qt for front-end or tool development

• Familiarity with hardware communication interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet, UART, I²C, or SPI is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of digital and analog electronics

• Proficient in using Git and modern collaborative development processes

• Passion for technology – be it for drones, 3D printing, robotics, or simply tinkering

• You work self-motivated, take responsibility, and drive your topics forward independently.

• Communication in English and German is a matter of course for you
