Development Engineer (m/w/d) Mechanical Construction Naval Solutions
The mechanical development department includes disciplines such as mechanical and electromechanical construction, optics design, structural analysis, and system engineering. Optical and electronic components are developed into optronic observation systems that also meet their performance data reliably under very difficult environmental conditions, such as strong vibration and extreme temperatures. In collaboration with other development departments, integrated, electromechanically stabilized reconnaissance and surveillance systems for submarines and surface vessels in the multispectral range are created.
The job holder (m/w/d) is responsible for the following tasks:
- Design of complex opto-mechanical components and systems
- Development of concepts considering functional, economic, and temporal requirements
- Selection and definition of materials and manufacturing processes
- Determination of production-ready form and tolerance specifications
- Calculation and documentation of strength calculations
- Preparation of production-ready drawings and specifications
- Determination of test requirements, construction of prototypes, and participation in engineering and qualification tests
- Support and guidance for external development partners, evaluation and optimization of offers regarding costs and performance
- Accompaniment of the production process and support of the series
Requirements:
- SUCCESSFUL completion of a degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, mechatronics, or aerospace engineering
- MULTI-YEAR WORK EXPERIENCE as a constructor in mechanical development, preferably in a military environment required
- GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF manufacturing and assembly processes required
- EXPERIENCE IN COOPERATION WITH PARTNERS required
- MS-Office at least detailed knowledge
- SAP at least detailed knowledge
- FUNDAMENTAL CAD KNOWLEDGE, preferably in Creo
- GOOD SAP KNOWLEDGE (document, material, and inventory management)
- EXPERIENCE WITH THE V-MODEL AND AGILE DEVELOPMENT METHODS
- German at least conversationally fluent
- English at least conversational
