Job description
As part of the Automation team within our R&D department, you are responsible for the development and management of the complete lifecycle of assigned projects and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and optimizing the operating systems and sensors of our pharmacy robot and peripherals, using Beckhoff PLC control.
- Selecting and testing necessary hardware components based on requirements.
- Designing electrical schematics.
- Choosing and configuring screens and computers for our new digital signage platform.
- Collaborating with Development Engineers on large projects or working independently on product developments.
- Working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of 10 engineers and reporting to the R&D Manager.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electromechanics or Automation, with several years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of or willingness to delve into programming environments such as Python, C++ or OpenCV.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Windows configuration and networks (IP configuration, WiFi, industrial networks);
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Motion, Structured Text);
- Basic knowledge of Computer Vision and electrical design.
- Interest in video processing algorithms and technologies (Object Recognition, Video Analytics, Event- & Pattern Detection, Video Processing, Artificial Intelligence,…).
- Eager to learn and able to thoroughly understand new technologies and convert them into working solutions.
- Solution-oriented and able to document projects in a structured manner.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
