From Zurich, we manage Ogilvy's healthcare portfolio for the DACH region as well as selected international clients from the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology sectors. Our interdisciplinary health team combines account management, medical writing, PR, digital, strategy, and creative.

We are looking for a Designer/ Art Director Health (m/f/d) in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt/Main, Düsseldorf, or Zurich as soon as possible.

 We offer:

  • Opportunity to work in a mobile office (up to 100%)
  • Use of our WPP further education network, including LinkedIn Learning
  • Support for private retirement provisions and the granting of capital-forming benefits
  • Anniversary bonuses in the form of additional vacation days
  • Opportunity to use a job bike
  • Extended company health insurance with an additional budget of up to €300 per year
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program TELUS Health
  • Free use of the Headspace app
  • Subsidized Gympass membership

Your tasks:

As Art Director Health, you will develop and design communication solutions for renowned clients in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Depending on the project, your scope of work ranges from specific communication materials such as flyers, brochures, presentations, and sales materials to visual identities, digital content, and integrated campaigns.
You will develop strong visual concepts, translate medical and scientific content into clear, relevant communication, and accompany projects from the initial idea to final implementation. You will work closely with Medical Writing, Client Services, Strategy, Creative Direction, Digital, PR, Production, and external partners.
The role requires creative excellence and a good understanding of the special requirements of healthcare communication – especially for Rx products, regulatory requirements, and review processes.

  • Conception and design of communication materials for print, digital, social media, and moving images – from flyers, brochures, and presentations to digital assets and campaign formats
  • Development of visual identities, corporate designs, branding solutions, campaign worlds, and visual narratives for pharmaceutical, biotech, and medtech clients
  • Translation of medical and scientific content into clear, target-group-oriented, and visually compelling solutions, especially for Rx, disease awareness, and patient engagement projects
  • Presentation and persuasive communication of ideas to clients, as well as accompanying the implementation and ensuring design quality across all channels and formats
  • Collaboration with internal departments and external partners such as photographers, film productions, freelancers, and partner agencies, as well as support for pitches, new business projects, and the development of existing client relationships

What you bring:

  • Completed apprenticeship as a graphic designer EFZ, degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, or a comparable qualification, as well as several years of professional experience as an Art Director in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or communication agency
  • In-depth experience in working with clients from pharma, biotech, and/or medtech, as well as demonstrable experience with communication measures for Rx products
  • Good understanding of medical content, regulatory requirements, and review processes in healthcare communication
  • Strong conceptual and design skills, a compelling portfolio, and confident use of Adobe Creative Cloud and common design and presentation tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, self-assurance when dealing with clients, and very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience with patient engagement, PR, and awareness campaigns, as well as knowledge of motion design and social/digital content creation are a plus.
  • You combine creative excellence with strategic thinking and can quickly grasp complex content and translate it into relevant visual ideas.
  • You work proactively, independently, solution-oriented, and reliably – both on larger projects and on specific communication materials in daily business.
  • You communicate clearly, present confidently, and can inspire clients with your ideas. You enjoy collaborating in interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • You bring resilience and flexibility for a dynamic and sometimes intensive agency day. Not everything is predictable; priorities and timings can change at short notice.
  • Even at a high pace and with multiple parallel projects, you maintain an overview, have a high standard of quality, and take responsibility. In intensive phases, you are willing to go the extra mile with the team.
