Design Manager - Project Manager

Your responsibilities

• Management of engineering projects and coordination at all stages of execution, from topic identification, planning, execution, and proper project closure
• Leading project execution, solving interdisciplinary and team problems
• Leading the project team and executing projects according to schedule, quality requirements, and budget
• Cooperation with the Sector Leader, other Project Managers, Discipline Managers
• Conducting project reviews, coordination meetings, and ensuring quality (QA/QC plan management)
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and requirements, determining project budgets, human resource forecasts, and schedules
• Developing an effective project execution plan and regularly updating it (change register, needs list, progress, budget)
• Delivering project results on time, within budget (labor hours), and to the required quality
• Actively seeking new orders and supporting the Water & Environment Sector Director in business development
• Building effective relationships between teams and throughout the organization. Creating a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within and between teams
• Providing leadership to the project team and ensuring the execution of all projects according to the program/schedule, quality, and budget
• Providing feedback, setting directions, and motivating the project team
• Representing the project team before external and internal clients and coordinating resources.

Our requirements

• At least 10+ (a dozen or so) years of experience in a similar position in the engineering/design/technical consulting industry in the water sector (preferably water and wastewater management – e.g., sewage networks (sanitary, combined, storm), water supply networks, reservoirs (retention, network, etc.), pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment plants)
• Experience in projects carried out in cooperation with a contractor in the design-and-build formula will be an additional advantage
• Higher technical education
• Preference for holding building design qualifications without limitations in the sanitary, structural, hydrotechnical, bridge, etc. disciplines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Polish
• Business awareness and the ability to lead project teams, as well as the ability to effectively execute projects on time, within the established budget, time, and quality
• Experience in all aspects of technical execution, including, but not limited to, quality assurance, cost management and control, schedule, and interdisciplinary coordination
• Proactivity and a flexible approach to the diverse and demanding nature of tasks
• Knowledge and experience in using appropriate software (e.g., graphical CAD, Common Data Environment, for schedule preparation, etc.)
• Culture of collaboration and a knowledge-sharing mindset, commitment, team management skills.
