Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Job description

Design and develop aero engine components and complex assemblies, ensuring compliance with safety, manufacturability, performance, and reliability requirements Evaluate in-service product performance and identify opportunities to improve product reliability and operational effectiveness Create engineering definitions and technical solutions for manufacturing, customers, and analysis teams using conventional design methods and Model-Based Definition (MBD) approaches Develop and enhance engineering tools, methods, standards, and best practices while capturing and implementing lessons learned Support product safety activities through risk assessments, FMEA processes, and adherence to quality management systems Perform engineering calculations and analyses to validate component designs, including assessments of stability, stiffness, weight, balance, and functional performance Manage assigned work packages within an agile development environment, ensuring delivery in line with project priorities and timelines Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and robust engineering solutions Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline Experience in understanding complex technical problems and developing innovative, practical solutions in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with data analysis and statistical evaluation methods Knowledge of aero engine design processes and engineering specifications; experience with core engine components and manufacturing processes is advantageous Familiarity with additive manufacturing design principles is beneficial Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams Fluent English, both written and spoken; German language skills are an advantage Exclusive access to leading companies and exciting projects through Hays, a reliable and established partner Flexible working time account with the option to receive overtime compensation Employer contribution to a private pension scheme (occupational pension plan) 30 days of annual leave Flexible working hours Our many years of recruitment experience and our expert knowledge of the engineering job market make us a strong partner for engineers and technicians.
