Job description
Senior HVAC Design Engineer
If you are a mechanically minded design specialist ready for a role with real traction, this one deserves your attention. We are looking for a degree qualified Mechanical Design Engineer with around five + years of experience, ideally gained in a building services contracting environment. You will be stepping into a team with a strong project pipeline that runs well beyond 2028, giving you long term stability and the chance to work on serious, technically rich projects.
This company is one of the most respected services contractors in Australia, delivering mechanical, HVAC and Electrical services across significant commercial builds. They work on complex environments rather than repetitive low impact projects, so your design skills will actually be put to work.
In this role, you will take ownership of mechanical system design across a variety of major projects including healthcare, commercial, data centre and defence. You will produce efficient and practical solutions while working closely with a multidisciplinary squad of engineers, project managers and consultants.
What you will be doing
• Designing mechanical systems that comply with all relevant Australian standards and codes
• Preparing drawings, specifications and design documentation
• Running calculations and simulations to validate performance and feasibility
• Collaborating with internal and external project stakeholders
• Helping refine and improve internal design processes
What you bring
• Around five + years of mechanical design experience, ideally with a services contractor
• Strong capability with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks
• Solid knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
• Confident problem solving abilities and a sharp analytical approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting
• Full Australian work rights
If you want a role that offers complex engineering challenges, genuine professional growth and a leadership team that backs good people, this is worth exploring. You will be joining an engaged and supportive group that values initiative, curiosity and technical depth.
