Position: Design and Cost Estimation Engineer

Location: Milan, Italy

Salary: €40,000 - €45,000 + Medical Insurance + Meal Vouchers

The Company

The company specializes in the construction of photovoltaic plants up to 100MW and has an important pipeline of projects under development, supporting its expansion in the Italian market. The goal is to establish itself as one of the leading EPCs in Italy, with a strong presence in the renewable energy sector. Currently, projects between 10 and 35MW are active throughout the national territory.

The Role

The Design & Cost Estimation Engineer is involved in the preliminary phase of projects to analyze customer needs, design optimized technical and economic solutions, and prepare technical and commercial offers. They assess project feasibility, carry out detailed cost studies, and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive, reliable, and sustainable proposals.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary design and assess the technical and economic feasibility of projects.
• Analyze customer requirements, technical specifications, and site constraints.
• Prepare cost estimates, calculate quantities, and contribute to defining the project budget.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors for quote collection and evaluation.
• Prepare technical and commercial documentation for bids, including reports, drawings, and diagrams.
• Develop optimized timelines and technical solutions in line with customer needs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimation processes, capitalizing on experiences and monitoring the market.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Electrical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent
• Excellent command of English and Italian **
• In-depth knowledge of photovoltaic system sizing and technologies
• Ability to conduct comprehensive technical and economic studies
• Skills in estimation and budgeting
• Excellent command of calculation tools, CAD/CAE, and the Office suite
