We are currently seeking for one of our leading clients in the Financial Services and Microfinance sector a: SENIOR BACKEND JAVA DEVELOPER

Position Objective:

Design and implement clean, modern, and scalable APIs, contributing to integration with legacy systems and databases, ensuring development quality through automated testing practices and good software engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement clean, elegant, modern, and easy-to-navigate APIs.
• Contribute to the integration of APIs with legacy systems, ensuring efficient interaction with underlying databases.
• Experience in Reactive programming (WebFlux)
• Apply API design principles: access control and authorization (JWT, Okta, OAuth), routing, endpoint management, versioning, HATEOAS, and discoverability.
• Document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger or other emerging standards.
• Write and maintain RESTful API services oriented towards independent services and large-scale applications, evaluating the most suitable deployment pattern/architecture (monoliths, microservices, serverless).
• Design queries and model data on SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing their interaction through ORM and implementing caching strategies where applicable.
• Apply automated testing practices, API performance profiling, error management, and debugging within the API call stack.
• Write effective unit tests and contribute to product development following established quality standards.

Requirements:

• More than 5 years of experience as a Backend Java developer, with mastery of Spring Boot (WebFlux, Spring Data) and related frameworks/API helpers.
• Solid experience in design, documentation, and deployment of RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger, JWT/OAuth/Okta authentication).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Couchbase, Firestore) and ORMs (Hibernate/R2DBC).
• Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, SonarQube).
• Desirable: reactive programming, hexagonal architecture, cloud services.
• Availability to work HYBRID from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Mexico City, Mexico.
