Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Bradford, BD14
Salary: £37,000 – £39,000 (DOE) + £3,600 sleep-in allowance + up to £1,000 performance bonus
Full-time, permanent (including sleep-ins)

The Role
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home for young people aged 8–18. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in residential childcare to step into a senior leadership role and make a real impact.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager and taking charge in their absence.
  • Leading, supervising, and developing staff.
  • Safeguarding children and ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
  • Promoting education, health, and independence for young people.
  • Ensuring compliance, audits, and inspection readiness.
  • Rota planning, on-call responsibilities, and shift leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Level 4 desirable.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and childcare legislation.
  • Flexible, resilient, and able to model positive leadership.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous Deputy Manager or shift-leading experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Additional childcare or social care qualifications.
