Job description
About the Company
In the context of an exclusive mandate, we are seeking a strategic key appointment for a leading, technology-driven scale-up in the field of industrial materials and global trade. Due to reasons of discretion, our client's identity will be treated confidentially at first.
The company is digitizing a global multi-billion-dollar market and combines a three-digit million-transaction volume with the dynamics of a high-financed growth company. With an international team of over 200 employees, including Berlin, Barcelona, and Québec, as well as a successfully completed 50-million-dollar Series-B financing round by renowned investors, the foundation for the next phase of global expansion is optimally set up.
The Role & Your CFO Perspective
In this position, you will rise as Deputy / Director (m/w/d) with the clear goal of taking over the CFO role in due course. You will build the financial operating system for global growth and strategic M&A activities, leading the way.
Tasks
- Leadership: Building, leading, and scaling a high-performance finance organization (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Risk).
- Capital Structure & M&A: Steering the capital structure over all growth phases and close partnership with the CEO on global M&A deals (evaluation, structuring).
- Financial Architecture & Scaling: End-to-End responsibility for GuV, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Working Capital to ensure the strongly increasing transaction volume.
- Financing as a System: Automation of financing and acquisition logic directly in our own tech platform.
- Governance & Controlling: Responsibility for international accounting, audits, and compliance, as well as optimizing strategic financial models.
Qualification
- Background: Strong track record in auditing (Transaction Services), investment banking, private/growth equity, or industry background.
- Experience: Proven practice in the scale-up sector with a focus on M&A and own and external capital transactions.
- Expertise: Excellent financial modeling, deep understanding of accounting and risk frameworks (working capital experience is a plus).
- Languages & Market Fit: Fluent German and English (or French) at mother tongue level; familiar with the markets in DACH, FR, and/or UK.
- Mindset: Systemic thinking, implementation-oriented
