Mō te tūnga | About the role Defence Dental Services provide clinical services, which are an essential part of holistic health services in the NZDF. In particular, proactive preventive based oral health services with an emphasis on restoring tooth form and function, managing conditions that affect the supporting tissues of the teeth and preventing future oral health problems. Our dental assistants are primarily responsible for providing chair side assistance to our Dentists, cleaning and preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining accurate records. They also assist in the administration of anaesthetics, taking radiographs, and performing other tasks as required.
