Demand Planning Manager

About the team: Careem Grocery is on a mission to reinvent the way people shop for grocery, pharmacy and retail products. As an exciting new vertical within Careem (a startup within a startup), were in the early stages of building our product and have plenty of interesting and fundamental challenges to solve in order to achieve our ambitious growth goals in this burgeoning space. What you will do: Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts at various levels of granularity (e.g., product, store, region, etc.). Forecasting Accuracy: Continuously monitor and improve forecast accuracy, identifying and addressing root causes of forecast errors. Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to optimize inventory levels, minimizing waste and ensuring product availability. Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Participate in the S&OP process, providing demand insights and recommendations to ensure alignment across different departments. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations, to gather relevant data and insights. Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes and tools, implementing best practices. Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in sales data. What you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, preferably in the retail or e-commerce industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced user). Experience with demand planning software or ERP systems is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Bonus points if you have: Experience with statistical forecasting methods. Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools. Experience in the grocery or pharmacy industry. Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package.
