Job description

1. POSITION: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISER (HSEQ ADVISOR)

Job Type: Full - Time

Salary: $45 to $50 per hour

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The HSEQ Advisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring and correcting all matters related to safety, environmental and quality as required by the DCOH Systems and relevant legislation and providing Safety, Environmental and Quality Management support to the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Health & Safety:

  • Specifically know and understand DCOH responsibilities regarding WH&S and ensure all site staff are informed of how those impact and reflect all site daily activities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff ensuring they work efficiently and effectively in relation to the company Management System.
  • Coordinate, report and take a hands-on approach to Workplace Health & Safety issues related to operations.
  • Ensure system documentation is maintained to meet the requirements set out in the DCOH Safety Management System. Particular attention is required on the following key documentation/project duties and nominated activities.
  • Ensure Safety Management Plans are implemented and that they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time specific.
  • Every subcontractor and trade activity directly undertaken by DCOH personnel has an approved Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS); Every person who works on the site has undertaken an induction; Relevant licences are available to carry out activities and credentials are established and recorded on file.
  • All electrical equipment is registered and has a current test and tag.
  • All plant and equipment are registered and has a current risk assessment.
  • All hazardous substances are registered, Risk Assessed and have a current Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
  • All activities relating to working at heights have been controlled in accordance with the
  • approved SWMS, appropriate permits have been issued and approved equipment is being used.
  • All activities relating to confined space and working in trenches are controlled, supported by the appropriate permit and current work practices comply with the approved SWMS.
  • The emergency preparedness equipment (i.e.: First aid kit, fire extinguishers, evacuation horn etc) is registered and is up to date and current.
  • All health surveillance monitoring equipment is registered, calibrated and used at the
  • nominated intervals.
  • All scheduled inspections, tests and audits are conducted, recorded and any corrective
  • actions identified are followed through and resolved.
  • All non-compliances are identified, documented, registered and managed in accordance with the nominated procedure.
  • All communication and consultation activities are conducted and recorded in accordance with nominated procedures.
  • All workplace incidents and accidents are to be recorded and reported and preventative actions identified and actioned.
  • Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, determine controls and evaluate the process and ensure that corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • Ensure all inefficiencies, short comings or possible improvements are communicated to site line managers for review and action as necessary.
  • All documentation generated is maintained for currency and is managed in accord with DCOH Procedures.
  • Ensure workers receive the appropriate medical treatment where necessary.
  • Ensure all DCOH employees understand and adhere to the DCOH Workplace Injury Process.
  • All workers are escorted to medical treatment when required.
  • Ensure all incident and accident investigations are reviewed and signed.

2. Environmental

  • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of Project Environmental Plan.
  • All Environmental Erosion Sediment Control Measures are maintained.
  • Monitor environmental legislative requirements for the project.
  • Control all management system documentation.
  • Participate in project audits.
  • Communicate environmental requirements to the Project Manager.
  • Assist the Project Manager to develop and implement the Project Environmental Plan.
  • Be part of inspections, audits and ensure recommendations are completed.
  • All documentation generated is maintained for currency and is managed in accord with DCOH Procedures.

3. Quality

  • Ensure the Project Quality Plan is correctly implemented to meet the project requirements.
  • Ensure the Master Inspection and Test Schedule is being upheld.
  • Ensure all non-conformances are reported and recorded.
  • Ensuring a non-conformance is dispositioned within the required time frame, and that disposition/remedial solutions are effectively implemented.
  • Review inspection reports are required to initiate any required actions.
  • Ensure subcontractors fulfil their quality system obligations.
  • Attending meetings to discuss quality issues. Identify and document quality system problems.
  • Assist with the updating of the Project Quality Plan.
  • Review the Inspection and Test Plans, Project Forms/Checklists.
  • Liaise with the client's quality assurance representative.
  • Assisting in the auditing/assessment of suppliers/subcontractors.
  • All documentation generated is maintained for currency and is managed according to DCOH Procedures.

SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated Minimum 3 years’ experience in a building-related role.
  • Ability to apply behaviour-based safety practices to promote the continuous improvement of safety culture among employees and sub-contractors.
  • Sound working knowledge of OH&S legislation legislative requirements relating to the business.
  • Operational computer literacy, high level of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Self-motivated, well organised and reliable.

1. Essential:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or Certificate IV in WH&S
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • White Card
  • Driver’s License
  • Full working rights in Australia

2. Desirable:

  • Certification in Auditing, Incident Investigation (ICAM), or Risk Management.
  • Experience working with contractors and managing HSEQ on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience using HammerTech WHS software or similar.

2. POSITION: PROJECT / CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION (Program or Project Administrator)

Job Type: Full - Time

Salary: $62 to $70 per hour

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Project/ Contract Administrator provides essential admin and document control support to the project team, ensuring smooth daily operations on site. This role plays a key part in managing documentation, maintaining registers, supporting team logistics and facilitating communication across internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Document Control & Records Management

  • Undertake document control duties, including sorting, filing, and registering project drawings to ensure only the most current versions are used.
  • Transmit and receive project documentation via Aconex to and from third parties (subcontractors, consultants, etc).
  • Maintain, manage, and distribute key project registers including transmittals, RFIs, samples, contact lists, ITPs, and others as required.
  • Assist in preparing and formatting regular project reports and submissions.

* Admin & Office Support

  • Assist with general administrative tasks required by the project team.
  • Act as a centralised point of contact for incoming phone calls, emails, and office visitors.
  • Assist in managing calendar invites and scheduling project inspections and meetings.
  • Maintain and update the project meeting schedule and meeting room calendars.
  • Assist with external electronic communication relating to the project.
  • Coordinate distribution of information to internal and external project stakeholders as directed.
  • Assist with organising team building events and activities.
  • Order, store and maintain office and kitchen supplies as required.
  • Liaise with and manage communication with office suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure communal staff spaces, such as kitchens and meeting rooms, are kept clean and well-presented.
  • Represent DCOH in a professional and ethical manner adhering to the DCOH Code of Conduct.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in an administrative or project support role in the construction or engineering industry
  • Proficiency with document control platforms (Aconex preferred)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of construction processes and terminology is preferred
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite and shared calendars (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
