DATEV Technician & Operations Manager (m/f/d) Remote, Full-time/Part-time
Job description
Location: 100% Remote
Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time (min. 20 hours per week)
Start Date: Immediately
At Jessy Works, you will elevate your DATEV and IT knowledge to a new level: You don't have to install the software on law firm servers yourself. Instead, you will support the IT administrators and system houses of our tax advisor clients as a technical expert on an equal footing, manage rollout processes, keep an eye on live operations through proactive monitoring, and resolve disruptions analytically and solution-oriented – from your home office, with no travel required.
About Jessy Works
Jessy Works is revolutionizing the working world of tax advisory firms. With our intelligent automation platform, we take over the manual routine work in financial accounting for law firm teams. Our solution integrates directly with existing law firm environments – whether on a local Windows server, PARTNERasp, or SmartIT.
We combine traditional law firm standards with state-of-the-art generative AI. To technically support our strong growth in law firms, we are looking for you as the central interface between law firm IT and our technology platform.
Responsibilities
Your Mission & Responsibilities
As a DATEV Technician & Operations Manager (m/f/d), you will ensure that the integration of Jessy Works into the heterogeneous IT landscapes of our law firm clients runs smoothly and remains stable long-term.
- Manage Onboarding & Rollout Processes: You will support external system houses and internal law firm administrators with the technical setup of our connectors. You will provide clear guidelines (network and firewall exceptions, certificates, service accounts, interfaces), coordinate appointments, and conduct technical functional acceptance testing.
- Proactive System Monitoring: You will monitor the live operation of our connected law firm systems, check interface statuses and system metrics, and proactively identify bottlenecks or irregularities before they impact daily law firm operations.
- Technical Troubleshooting on an Equal Footing: Whether after service releases, Windows updates, or network changes: During disruptions, you will analyze log files, isolate the cause, and develop targeted solutions together with the IT administrators.
- Optimization on Our Side: You will perform system-specific configuration adjustments within our platform and ensure that data flows are optimally aligned with the law firm systems.
- Bridge to Engineering: As the primary interface to law firm IT, you will feed systemic anomalies and edge cases directly into our software development team and continuously improve our technical setup guides and best practices.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- In-depth DATEV Expertise (Mandatory): You have several years of practical experience in supporting DATEV environments – e.g., as a DATEV Technician, System Engineer in an IT system house (law firm system partner), or Law Firm IT Administrator.
- Law Firm Infrastructure Know-how: You are familiar with typical IT architectures in the tax advisor environment (Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Terminal Server / Remote Desktop Services, DNS/DHCP, TLS certificates, firewalls) as well as DATEV operating models (On-Premise, DATEV SmartIT, PARTNERasp).
- Education or Comparable Qualification: Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, IT System Electronics Technician, IT System Kaufmann, or a comparable technical qualification with relevant professional experience.
- Strong Process and Communication Skills: You speak the language of system house administrators, are confident and friendly in your interactions, and reliably and systematically guide technical onboardings to success.
- Analytical Mindset: You get to the root of errors logically and systematically (log analysis, network analysis) and enjoy stable, well-monitored systems.
- Language Skills: Fluent German (spoken and written, C1/C2) and English for internal communication (min. B2).
Benefits
What We Offer You
- 100% Remote & Flexible: Work completely location-independent and manage your time around onboarding schedules.
- Real Scope for Design in an AI Tech Company: No rigid corporate hierarchies or dusty system house structures. With us, you count as a person, and your ideas directly influence the product and processes.
- Exciting AI Environment: You will work closely with a dynamic, ambitious founding team and help transform a core industry.
