Data Protection Officer Consultant Data Protection and Data Security Business Lawyer (m/f/d) - Part-time possible
Job description
Do you consider data protection and informational self-determination essential in a digital world? Are you looking for a meaningful task and want to develop yourself personally and professionally into an expert and celebrate successes together as a team? Then you are in the right place with us!
We, ENSECUR, are passionate about data protection and data security. As external data protection officers, we inspire our nationwide customers and pursue our vision:
Data protection officers empower organizations to do data protection better.
As a consultant at ENSECUR, you will manage our clients largely independently. You will handle standard mandates independently, assess more complex data protection issues, and coordinate with experienced colleagues on particularly difficult or new questions.
Our clients are primarily large social and church organizations, software and IT companies, as well as other companies with demanding data protection and digitalization projects. In addition to ongoing data protection consulting, you will, for example, support the introduction of new software, data protection impact assessments, and projects related to Microsoft 365 and AI.
Part-time: Yes, we offer flexible working hours, which we will arrange together so that they also fit with family life and childcare.
Mobile Working: Up to two days per week of mobile working is possible - possibly reduced for part-time employment
Tasks
- Review and evaluate organizations, processes, and software applications for data protection compliance
- You will manage your own clients and mandates largely independently and be a reliable technical contact person for your clients regarding data protection.
- You will independently handle typical data protection issues and develop practical recommendations for legal, technical, and organizational questions.
- You will also structure more complex or initially unclear situations, ask the necessary clarifying questions, and decide which points are actually relevant for the data protection assessment.
- You will conduct client meetings, coordination, training sessions, and workshops independently. You will support more demanding projects such as the introduction of new software, data protection impact assessments, Microsoft 365, or AI applications.
- You will create data protection documentation, assessments, statements, and work results that can be used immediately after a manageable internal review.
- For particularly difficult, new, or cross-functional issues, you will use team coordination for technical sparring.
- You will identify additional consulting needs with the client and address them early on if questions go beyond the agreed scope of services.
- You will further develop existing templates and working methods from consulting practice and support colleagues with individual technical questions.
Qualifications
You have a good feel for your counterpart, think in terms of solutions, and see yourself as a service provider for our clients. You are curious, enjoy learning, and want to develop yourself personally and professionally into an expert.
- University degree or vocational training with a focus on data protection and IT, or a comparable qualification, ideally with consulting experience in data protection law and IT.
- A completed university degree or vocational training related to data protection, law, business law, information management, business informatics, or a comparable qualification.
- Practical experience in data protection and broad, application-oriented knowledge of data protection.
- You can handle typical data protection questions and standard mandates largely independently and know which specific issues require additional coordination.
- You can combine legal requirements with technical and organizational aspects and develop understandable recommendations for action.
- You present yourself confidently in client meetings, can ask targeted questions, and can answer even difficult follow-up questions comprehensibly.
- You can structure your own work, set priorities, and reliably manage multiple ongoing topics.
- German language skills at a minimum C1 level, both spoken and written. Our client consulting primarily takes place in German. Therefore, you must be able to understand complex legal, technical, and organizational issues, ask targeted questions, and explain them comprehensibly.
- Good English language skills at approximately B2 level, especially for understanding and processing English-language data protection, contract, and technical documents. You should be able to conduct occasional technical coordination in English with appropriate preparation.
- You independently familiarize yourself with new issues and develop solutions, rather than relying solely on existing patterns.
Benefits

- Flexible working hours, including part-time – let us know what is possible for you
