Job description

Actively shape the digital world of data and ensure reliable and high-performance database operation. As a Database Administrator (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for the administration and optimization of MS SQL Server databases, work on modern data warehouse and big data solutions, and contribute your expertise to an agile Scrum team.

Responsibilities

  • Database administration including administration, maintenance, and upkeep of database servers and instances (MS SQL Server) as well as continuous optimization of database performance
  • Data warehouse management with administration, further development, and migration of the data warehouse system as well as optimization of databases and data models
  • Backup and recovery through conception and implementation of reliable backup and recovery solutions
  • Database operation to ensure the smooth operation of a high-performance and highly available database structure
  • Big data solutions within the scope of participation in a Scrum team in the development and support of innovative solutions

Qualifications

  • Training as an IT specialist (m/f/d), completed degree in computer science, or comparable qualification as well as preferably initial professional experience in database administration
  • Database systems with good knowledge in handling relational databases, especially MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge of MySQL is advantageous
  • Database optimization with experience in performance optimization of databases, for example through index optimization
  • Analytical skills as well as strong problem-solving competence and a careful, structured, and systematic way of working
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork
