Data Steward - Corporate Operations RH (f/m/d)

We are looking for a Data Steward Corporate Operations People based in Lille or Paris

DECATHLON is accelerating the transformation and digitalization of its HR processes, partly thanks to a strong mastery of its People data and its uses. To support this transformation, we are deploying a global HR platform integrating a CORE HR (Workday) and several talent management modules (Performance, Comp&Ben, Career management...).

At the heart of Decathlon's success is our commitment to our 100,000 employees. The People Data team plays an essential role in this development. By joining our multidisciplinary team (over 30 experts: Data Product Managers, Data Analysts, BI engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers and data governance experts), you will work on all HR processes and be the guarantor of the management and protection of our data.

Your main responsibilities

As a Data Steward, you will play an essential role in the management and protection of data within the company. You will work in close collaboration with business teams, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that data in your domain is documented, reliable, accessible, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards:

• Documentation & discoverability: you will participate in the structuring of business concepts and ensure coherent and centralized documentation in the Data Catalog (Collibra). You will ensure the lineage between business concepts and technical knowledge.
• Data accessibility: you will translate business needs into technical exposure requirements, and support Data Users in locating and using data by promoting the use of the Data Catalog. You will ensure that data ingestions into the Datalake comply with standards (storage zone, schemas, naming conventions...).
• Security & compliance: you will ensure that data remains strictly compliant with security requirements and legal rules (e.g., CNIL, GDPR, PIPL). You will verify alignment with the DPO's processing register.
• Animation & collaboration: you will actively collaborate with Data Owners, Data Quality Managers, Data Managers, Product Owners/Data Producers, and technical teams (Data Engineers, BI Engineers). You will also contribute to the global Data Stewards community to improve maturity and evolve standards.

Your ecosystem & HR specificities

• Tools & processes: you will work within an ecosystem characterized by solutions such as Workday, talent acquisition tools (e.g., GreenHouse), and local and global payroll systems.
• Data objects: you will document entities specific to human resources (Job profile, Worker, Payroll, Cost Center, etc.).
• Key compliance issue: extreme attention will be paid to the confidentiality of employees' personal and sensitive data.

What you will need to succeed

• Experience: solid background in Data Stewardship, ideally on HR projects, in a complex, multi-country environment.
• Technical expertise: proficiency in using a Data Catalog (ideally Collibra), understanding of Data ecosystems (API, Datalake, Data Warehouse), simple SQL queries, and Agile methodologies (Jira). Knowledge of Cloud environments (Databricks, Tableau).
• Interpersonal skills: rigor, excellent analytical and synthesis skills, service orientation. Ability to persuade, simplify, and rally diverse stakeholders. Fluent English is essential (B2/C1 level) to collaborate with the global network.
• Level of autonomy: ability to work independently on complex areas, influence best practices, and lead cross-functional initiatives with high impact.
