Job description
We are looking for a Data Steward Corporate Operations Finance based in Lille or Paris
Within the Corporate Operations Digital Unit, Decathlon's finance department is undertaking a major transformation of its information system to support the group's international strategic steering. The reliability, accessibility, and compliance of financial data are critical issues for meeting regulatory and audit requirements, while offering a seamless experience to business teams (management control, accounting, treasury).
The Finance Data Governance team is recruiting a Data Steward to structure this complex perimeter. You will work closely with Data teams and financial functions to deliver a robust, documented, and auditable data foundation.
Your Main Responsibilities
As a Data Steward, you will play a key role in managing and protecting data within the company. You will work closely with business teams, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that data in your domain is documented, reliable, accessible, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards:
- Documentation & Discoverability: You will participate in structuring business concepts and ensure consistent and centralized documentation in the Data Catalog (Collibra). You will ensure the lineage between business concepts and technical knowledge.
- Data Accessibility: You will translate business needs into technical exposure requirements, and assist Data Users in locating and using data by promoting the use of the Data Catalog. You will ensure that data ingestions into the Datalake comply with standards (storage zone, schemas, naming conventions...).
- Security & Compliance: You will ensure that data remains strictly compliant with security requirements and legal rules (e.g., CNIL, GDPR, PIPL). You will verify alignment with the DPO's processing register.
- Facilitation & Collaboration: You will actively collaborate with Data Owners, Data Quality Managers, Data Managers, Product Owners/Data Producers, and technical teams (Data Engineers, BI Engineers). You will also contribute to the global Data Stewards community to improve maturity and evolve standards.
Your Ecosystem & Finance Specifics
- Tools & Processes: You will work within a structured ecosystem centered around major financial ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and consolidation and performance tools.
- Data Objects: You will document entities specific to finance (Legal Entity, Chart of Accounts, Cost Center, Financial KPIs, transactions).
- Key Compliance Challenge: Extreme attention will be paid to auditability and absolute traceability of flows to meet accounting standards and performance steering.
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience: Proven experience in Data Stewardship, ideally applied to the Finance domain, or a hybrid profile (management control / audit with a strong aptitude for data architecture).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using a Data Catalog (ideally Collibra), understanding of Data flows and architectures (API, Datalake, Data Warehouse), simple SQL queries, and Agile methodologies (Jira). Knowledge of Cloud environments (Databricks, Tableau).
- Soft Skills: Extreme rigor related to the nature of financial data. Synthesis skills, diplomacy, and pedagogical approach to align demanding directions. Fluent English is essential (B2/C1 level) to manage the global network.
- Autonomy Level: Ability to work autonomously on complex perimeters, influence best practices, and lead cross-functional initiatives with high impact.
