Your Mission

You ensure that data is transformed into reliable decisions and functioning AI solutions.

At Agentur Philipp, we develop AI systems for medium-sized businesses that genuinely reduce workload: intelligent document processing, data extraction, RAG systems, forecasts, and AI colleagues.

For this, we are looking for a Data Scientist who truly understands data. You identify patterns, develop clean data and evaluation logics, and transform unstructured information into reliable systems that work in our clients' daily operations.

Responsibilities

Your Tasks

• You analyze complex, structured, and unstructured data from real client processes.
• You develop data models, features, and evaluations for AI and automation solutions.
• You prepare data, develop ETL and data pipelines, and ensure reliable data quality.
• You develop, compare, and evaluate machine learning and LLM approaches for specific use cases.
• You build RAG systems with clear retrieval logic, metadata filters, evaluation, and traceable quality metrics.
• You work on document AI, such as PDF extraction, OCR, table, layout, and text analysis.
• You develop data and evaluation sets so that our systems not only appear convincing but also operate reliably from a technical standpoint.
• You visualize and explain results in a way that both technical and non-technical colleagues can work with them.
• You work closely with our engineering team to ensure your solutions can be deployed productively.

Qualifications

What you bring with you

• Very good Python skills and solid experience with Pandas, SQL, and common data science tools.
• Practical experience with data analysis, data preparation, and ETL or ELT pipelines.
• Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, or LLM-based data applications.
• Experience with RAG systems, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, and evaluation.
• You understand data quality, error patterns, and model limitations. You verify results instead of blindly trusting them.
• Experience with APIs, relational databases, and unstructured data formats such as PDFs, JSON, or text data.
• You work in a structured manner, document cleanly, and can clearly explain your decisions.
• You take responsibility and think from the perspective of real customer benefit.

This is a plus, but not a must

• Experience with document AI, OCR, information extraction, or table extraction.
• Experience with computer vision or multimodal models.
• Experience with Docker, FastAPI, MLflow, cloud platforms, or local AI stacks.
• Experience with data privacy-sensitive data and on-premise environments.
• German language skills are helpful, but not a deal-breaker. Our team also works in English.
