Must-Have Skills
As a Data Quality Engineer, you will ensure that the organization's Snowflake data warehouse and dbt pipelines consistently produce accurate, complete, and reliable data. You will design data quality checks, build automation, enforce data governance standards, and identify/resolving data inconsistencies.

You'll join the Data Platform Team, responsible for managing and governing a massive data ecosystem used by internal squads, partners, and enterprise clients. The team ensures all data is secure, reliable, well-governed, and leveraged for insights.
Key Customers
Internal: Member Experience squads, Partner Campaign squads, Legal, Privacy, Risk, Technology teams
External: WES & Coles peers, Technology partners, Vendors, Service Providers
Position Impact & Collaboration
Must-Have Skills
- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality assurance, or data-focused QA roles
- 2+ years in data engineering or data quality engineering
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with Snowflake (strong), plus exposure to Oracle and Postgres
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and dbt (orchestration & transformation)
- Experience building, validating, and troubleshooting data pipelines
- Ability to design & implement data validation/test processes
- Familiarity with AWS services (basic level)
- Strong documentation skills (data quality standards, guidelines, processes)
- Ability to collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and governance teams
- Experience defining test strategies, testing standards, and test data management
- Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale data environments
- Exposure to Agile ceremonies (Scrum, sprint planning, backlog grooming)
- Ability to review test strategy and contribute to QA oversight for data products
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices

- Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and maintain dbt-based pipelines
- Define, track, and report data quality metrics
- Enforce data governance standards and contribute to policy development
- Maintain detailed documentation on data quality processes
- Build automated scripts and tools to reduce manual QA work
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues across datasets
- Stay updated on data quality, governance, and engineering best practices
- Work with internal squads and external partners to ensure alignment to standards
- Provide high-level QA oversight on data projects (test strategy, test planning)
